- 1 1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour

- Cut chicken into serving pieces.
- Pour 8 cups water into large saucepan; add 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper.
- Bring to a boil.
- Add chicken; bring to a boil.
- Cover; simmer until tender.
- Add soup; bring to a boil.
- Beat egg; add remaining water and salt and pepper to taste.
- Mix well.
- Add flour; stir well.
- Dough should be stiff enough to handle.
- Roll out on floured board to 1/4-inch thickness.
- Cut with knife into strips 1/2 inch wide and 3 inches long.
- Drop strips into boiling chicken mixture, one at a time, submerging each strip as added.
- Cook until dumplings are done.
