- 1/3 Cup Cornstarch

- Place chicken pieces, bouillon cube, salt, bay leaf, thyme and 5 cups water in large kettle; bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat; cover.
- Simmer for 30 minutes.
- Add celery, carrots and onions; cover.
- Simmer for about 10 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
- Mix cornstarch and 1 cup water; stir into chicken mixture.
- Bring to a boil; cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute.
- Serve in soup plates.
