Ingredients
- 4 Slices Bread
- 4 Slices Black Forest Ham
- 4 Slices Turkey Slices
- 4 Slices Swiss Cheese
- 2 Large Egg
- 1/4 Cup Milk
- 1/2 Tsp Vanilla
- 1 Pinch Salt

Directions
Directions
- Layer Swiss cheese, ham, turkey, and another slice of Swiss cheese between two slices of bread. Repeat with the second sandwich.
- Whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla (if using), salt, and pepper in a shallow dish.
- Coat the sandwiches by dipping each sandwich into the egg mixture for about 5–10 seconds per side - Don’t soak them too long—just enough to coat the bread.
- Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Cook the sandwiches for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Add more butter as needed for the second batch.
- Dust generously with powdered sugar.
- Slice diagonally and serve warm with raspberry preserves or strawberry jam for dipping.
- Serve
- Brioche or challah bread creates an extra-rich sandwich.
- Add a thin layer of Dijon mustard inside for a tangy twist.
- Cook over medium-low heat if using thick bread so the cheese melts before the outside browns too much.
- For an extra-crispy restaurant-style version, finish the sandwiches in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 5 minutes after pan-frying.
- Raspberry preserves or strawberry jam, for extra flavor
