- 1/2 Tsp Salt
- 3 Tbsp Toffee Sauce

- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- Grease an 8-inch square baking dish.
- Prepare the dates by placing chopped dates in a bowl and covering them with boiling water, and baking soda.
- Let sit for 10 minutes, then mash lightly with a fork.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time.
- Mix in the vanilla.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the date mixture. Mix just until combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cut the warm pudding into squares.
- Spoon plenty of warm toffee sauce over each serving.
- Serve with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or custard.
