A little toasting goes a long way in this cozy apple pie. Apples spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg are tucked beneath a buttery crumb topping crowned with walnuts that get pan-toasted first for extra depth and fragrance. The result is a warm, nutty crunch over tender, spiced fruit, making a homey dessert that feels a touch more special than the everyday version.
