- 2 Cups Dry White Wine
- 2 Cups Unpeeled Red Tart Apples - Sliced
- 1 - Salt - To Taste
- 1 - Black Pepper - To Taste
- 8 Slices Bacon

- Bone pheasant breasts; place in shallow bowl.
- Pour 1 cup wine over breasts; let stand in refrigerator to marinate for 2 to 3 hours.
- Cover bottom of 9 x 13-inch baking dish with apple slices; place pheasant breasts on top of apples.
- Season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Place bacon strips on pheasant breasts; pour marinade and remaining wine over all.
- Bake, covered, for 2 hours at 325 degrees.
- Remove cover and bacon; bake for 20 to 30 minutes longer or until brown.
- Discard apples.
- Serve with wild rice.
