Why choose between a brownie and a cookie when brookies give you both in one square? A chewy chocolate chip cookie layer bakes over a fudgy, gooey brownie base, so every bite delivers two textures at once. They are a bake-sale showstopper and a dangerous thing to leave on the counter, since one is never quite enough.
Directions
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Prepare the brownies as instructed in recipe. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
- In another bowl, prepare the chocolate chip cookie dough as instructed in recipe.
- Drop spoonful's of the cookie dough over the brownie batter. Gently spread to cover most of the surface, leaving a few brownie spots peeking through for a homemade look.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, until the cookie layer is golden and a toothpick inserted into the brownie comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool completely before slicing into squares.
