Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
Prepare the brownies as instructed in recipe. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
In another bowl, prepare the chocolate chip cookie dough as instructed in recipe.
Drop spoonful's of the cookie dough over the brownie batter. Gently spread to cover most of the surface, leaving a few brownie spots peeking through for a homemade look.
Bake for 35–40 minutes, until the cookie layer is golden and a toothpick inserted into the brownie comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cool completely before slicing into squares.
